Weekends are the happiest days for a working professional. They always have an extra glow on their face when their office hours are about to get over on Friday evening. On the contrary, Sunday evenings are the dullest moments for these people. Just the thought that they have to get back to work the very next day makes them feel weak on so many levels. This nervousness to face Monday is what is called as Monday Morning Blues. So how to face the Mondays with more energy and how to recover from this problem? So that you can enjoy your weekends better.
No Outing or Any Activities after Sunday afternoon
Sunday is a holiday, but that doesn’t mean you should be traveling the whole day or engaged in some activity for the whole day. After your lunch, make sure you are at ease for the rest of the day. Take rest. May be you can get to a beach, temple, or for a movie to feel at rest. But at any cost avoid long journeys or day long activities.
Get Ready for Monday
Instead of planning your work on Monday morning after getting to work, start planning your work for the next day right at your home. but, you do not need to spend a lot of time on it. Doing so will make you feel tired. Make sure you are spending as little time as possible for the task. This will make you feel more relaxed the next day when you get to work. Additionally, you can avoid feeling stress and anxiety. You can also get your stuff ready for work the next day.
Dinner Before 8 pm
You must have your dinner between 7 and 8 pm on Sunday. Consume only easily digestible foods. If you consume fat rich foods like pizza, burger, meat etc.. it will make you feel dull and tired the next day when you wake up.
Be watchful of Night’s Sleep
You can sleep late on Saturday night, but make sure you are sleeping early on Sunday night. Deep sleep is a must on Sunday night. Only when you sleep early on Sunday night will you feel fresh when you get up on Monday morning. Also, you can avoid rushing to your work on Monday.
Waking up Fresh
Wake up early on Monday. Only then can you get ready for your work at ease. Doing so, you can avoid rash bike rides or rash car driving to work. Waking up late will infect you with anxiety and will make you feel stressful from the moment you wake up. This mind set will continue for the rest of the day and at work.
Eat what you love
Never skip your breakfast on Monday. It is bad for your health. Always make sure you are eating your favorite food for breakfast. Some people love the sandwich, some people love rice cakes. Have the breakfast that you would really love to eat. This will make you feel happy and fresh in the morning.
Wear Your Favorite Dress
Wear your favorite shirt, pant, or any dress you love the most for Monday to work. This will make you feel more confident and avoid boredom. Additionally, avoid wearing tight jeans on summer days, similarly avoid wearing loose clothes during winter.
Have a little Chat
Do not talk to a person who will have a debate with you or who share a different opinion on the morning. On the contrary, talk to a person who shares the same feelings, same ideas as yourself on Monday morning for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also have a fun chat with your kids. This will make you feel more safe and secure.
Meditation, Yoga, Music What is your Choice?
If you are someone who loves meditation and yoga, you can practice it immediately after waking up. Some people love to jog or go for a brisk walk in the morning. If you do not have these habits, then you can start your day by listening to your favorite pieces of music. This will make you feel more joyful and relaxed. This feeling will continue for the rest of the day.
Do what you love
When you take up a job, make sure it is something you love to do. When you love your job, then there will never be Monday morning blues in your life.
Avoid signing up for a job just for the money. Every morning is a Monday morning for those who did it. Even if you took up a job just for money due to your family situation and your financial needs, have a clear picture in your mind that you are doing it for a particular reason, and you are sacrificing this for that. Try to convert the work you took up to work you love to do.
Stop looking at your work environment as something dangerous or threatening. Doing so will make your body to secrete emergency hormones such as Cortisol and Adrenaline. When it continues, this could lead to heart-related problems. To prevent this, you can start making more friends at your work place. Spend some fun time with them. For every couple of hours of work, take rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
